Puerto Vallarta Mexico Fishing

       Sport fishing is big in P.V. and you can easily arrange to spend some time deep sea or sport fishing. Bring in that big one - Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish and Sierras roam the waters of the Bay. Dorado, huachinango (red snapper) and three different kinds of tuna are there for the catching as well.

With open ocean waters this calm, it's no surprise that numerous sailboat charters and yachts provide yet another way to spend time on the Bay. Enjoy luxurious lounging with every amenity while you fish, explore, snorkel or just sun yourself. You can book a private yacht charter, or participate in a luxury sailboat day cruise. To see the Bay the way it was seen centuries ago, you can spend the day sailing on an exact replica of Christopher Columbus' ship, the "Santa Maria". 

 

Location Sailfish, dorado and marlin from the Marietta Islands and El Morro to Corbetena and El Banco. Also, sailfish, dorado, tuna and bonita at the south tip of the bay around El Faro and Chimo. Tuna from Bucerias to Punta de Mita.
Weather Conditions Seas are calm with a little chop in the afternoons, slightly hazy but mostly sunny days. Water has warmed up to around 79º F.
Bait Marlin, sailfish and yellow-fin tuna caught mostly on live or dead bait (lisa, goggle eye and albacore). Roosterfish like the live bait. Wahoo are biting baby squid and live bait. The dorado will normally bite almost everything: live and dead bait and psychodelico lures are working best right now.
